Garbage Cans
Garbage
cans must be pulled in and stored out of sight either in
your garage or side yard after the garbage is picked up
on Fridays. Some homeowners are not pulling in their garbage
cans until the following day or days after. Notices and
fines will be sent to homeowners who fail to pull in their
garbage cans on Friday.
Please
help keep our community attractive by pulling in your garbage
cans promptly.
Web Page
As
you can see, California Oakbrook now has its own web page.
All future events as well as new developments concerning
the community will be posted on the website as they become
available.
Once
again, thank you to Cary Gerken for putting together the
California Oakbrook web page.
Dogs
Homeowners
are walking their dogs in the community and are letting
their dogs defecate on common grounds as well as homeowners'
lawns. This is a continuous problem.
It
is irresponsible and disrespectful to continue this behavior.
The Board of Directors will NOT tolerate this any further. Your neighbors are reporting you to the board!
Any
homeowner caught letting their dog(s) defecate on homeowners'
lawns and neglecting to pick up dog waste on any part of
the California Oakbrook common grounds will be subject
to a $250.00 penalty.
Oil & Rust Stains
One
of the beauties of the California Oakbrook Community is
its curb appeal, which is somewhat diminished when negligent
homeowners fail to clean up oil and rust stains from their
driveways. The Rules and Regulations clearly state that
oil and rust stains on driveways are strictly prohibited.
Currently
there are about three homes in the community who are in
violation. This notice serves as a first and only warning
to all homeowners with oil and rust stains currently on
their driveways. They must be cleaned up immediately. Notices
will be sent out in January for those homeowners who fail
to clean up.
If
you have any questions on the best method to rid your driveway
of those oil stains, Home Depot offers
a number of products that can do the job.
Home Improvement
It
has been seven years since the first homes were built at
California Oakbrook.
Past
Board Members, as well as the present Board, have worked
very hard at preserving the beauty and quality of the community. Any color changes MUST be submitted to the Board with a 1 foor by 1 foot paint sample for approval PRIOR to any painting. Failure could result in fines or possible a re-paint to approved colors. A re-paint using your existing colors does not need approval.
It
is highly suggested by the Board to assess your home's
current condition and see where your individual home needs
some work so we can all, as homeowners, do our part to
maintain the property values we are all enjoying, as well
as the safety of your home.
Areas
to look at:
Painting
- Gutters
- Driveways
(free of oil & rust)
- Landscape
- Exterior
Lighting
- Heating
& Air Units
- Water Heaters
- Mailboxes
- Address
Numbers & Lights
The
Board is asking every homeowner to assess your house and
look to see where your improvements are needed, if any.
Mail Boxes
It has also been observed that there are some mail boxes
in the community that need to be replaced. The mail boxes
during the past six years are either rusting or have been
dented and/or damaged. These mail boxes can be purchased
at Home Depot. Sometime after the New Year, the Board will
give notices to those homeowners who need to replace their
mail boxes. We are looking at possibly upgrading the mail boxes to enhance the look of the neighborhood.
Address Lights & Numbers
It has been observed that there are some homes whose address
lights have burnt out as well as some homes who have lost
the numbers on their address lights.
These items must be repaired/replaced immediately. All address
numbers replaced must match the original numbers. If you
need to call customer service at Kaufman and Broad, their
phone number is (909) 802-1100.
Speeding
Remember to drive safe when driving through our community
streets. Even though there has been dramatic improvement,
there still are a couple of drivers who need to slow down.
Please keep our streets safe and drive no more than 15-20 mph. PLEASE watch downhill speed on Ramona.
Parking
Homeowners must remember that all vehicles must either be
parked in the garage or on the driveways. There is absolutely
no overnight parking by homeowners. Only
guests are allowed
to park on the street overnight, which is limited to 48 hours.
High Speed Internet
Adelphia is now offering high speed cable internet in the community, this is a a new feature as of March 05.
